Get the Emmy Look: Rose Byrne
Oh, Rose. I can barely focus on the makeup and the amazing dress with that hair in the way! This 'do looks more like something Helena Bonham Carter would sport. I have the breakdown for the hairstyle and just can't bring myself to post it, so let's focus on the makeup instead. I'm not a fan of the way the eyeliner on the lower lid just stops; it definitely needed some better blending to smooth
Get the Emmy Look: January Jones
January Jones' makeup at the 2010 Emmy Awards was gorgeous--very simple and classic--but aye, where was her hairstylist? Anyhow, let's focus on the makeup, since honestly, there's not much to say about that hair. Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin was inspired by "Irving Penn's iconic photos of his wife/supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives, whose signature extended eyeliner symbolizes the epitome of elegance."
Get the Emmy Look: Tina Fey
Tina Fey in a sexy smokey eye...loving it! Makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua was inspired by "Tina's beautiful eyes and black beaded overlay dress," and created this smoldering look, offset by soft lips and cheeks. Kara's tips:
"he focus was on Tinas eyes and beautiful skin. I prepped with Jurlique Rose Water and the new CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate.
We kept her lips fresh and moist with the

Chanel Unveils Martin Scorsese's BLEU DE CHANEL Short Film
A killer Rolling Stones soundtrack? Moody flashbacks to old lovers? A COLLAPSING ROOM? Martin Scorsese's epic commercial for Chanel's new men's fragrance, Bleu de Chanel, has all that and more. I'm loving the blue-soaked color palette of the film, not to mention the hotness factor of Gaspard Ulliel, the French actor who plays the lead. More, please!

Get the Look: Amanda Crew at the Charlie St. Cloud Premiere
Amanda Crew stars in the upcoming film Charlie St. Cloud (with the always-perfectly-coiffed Zac Efron), and she showed up at the LA premiere looking quite lovely. CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin is responsible for this look - I'm LOVING that lip color - and shares the products she used below.
"Amanda's make up for the premiere was really fresh and modern with cool sleek lines.

Holiday Collections: Chanel
Chanel collections rarely disappoint! I love how there's always some special item -- usually some kind of gold creation or an extra special palette -- that's the jewel of the collection. This holiday season, it's POUDRE PRECIEUSE OR, a gorgeous gold loose highlighting powder that comes with a half-moon brush. But what I'm really wanting from this collection is the Haute Chocolat nail polish.

Beauty Graveyard: My 5 Most-Missed Products
Just recently I "hit pan" on a limited-edition MAC eyeshadow, and as I saw the first glimpse of silver metal at the bottom of the near-empty pan, I realized that once I finished it, it would be gone for good. Damn these limited edition products! It got me thinking about some of my old favorites (limited edition or not) that are, ahem, "in a better place now." Some, I still haven't been able to

New Collection: Chanel Fall 2008
Start saving your pennies, friends. CHANEL has just announced its Fall 2008 makeup collection and it is stunning. (Click the image to enlarge.) There's just something about a collection filled with gold things that gives me butterflies. I know I'm just adding to the hype that will inevitably surround this (especially the nail polish), but I really can't help it. I want that highlighter, the gold

A Serum, A Serum, My Kingdom For a Serum!
I'm no stranger to the world of expensive skincare - I've purchased it, sampled it, loved it, hated it. I fondly remember my first jar of Creme de la Mer; I bought it during one of those amazing Best of Beauty weeks, back when Gloss.com was still around (I miss that site!). Honestly, there was something thrilling about owning a product that was so coveted and, for some, prohibitively

Til You're Blue in the Face
The blue nail craze has officially reached fever pitch.First came OPI Russian Navy and Sally Hansen Navy Venom. Then Chanel announced that Blue Satin would be the headliner of their Spring collection. Now the good people at Dior are throwing their hat into the ring with Poison Blue. It's said to be inspired by the new Midnight Poison fragrance, but do you really think they'd be releasing a blue

Spring Collections: Chanel
Smokey blue eye from Chanel this season? Dream come true!Snag this gorgeous eye look with the new Bleu Celestes eyeshadow quad, Ombre d'Eau liquid eyeshadow in Rivage and Glacier, and eyeliner in Blue Jean. I've been in love with those Ombre d'Eau shadows since their introduction a few years ago - they NEVER crease. And the blue shadow quad is just perfect - dramatic and interesting but still

Reefer Madness: How to Rock a Coral Lip
Coral lipsticks have been popping up in many a collection these days, but fret not - they're not the hideous, blinding hues of yesteryear. Even though coral is so heavily associated with decades past - there was even a character named Coral in Cocktail, remember? - in its new incarnation it can actually look quite modern and fresh.I will admit wearing a coral lip is dangerous territory, though -

In The Navy
If last fall's nail craze was black and deep burgundy, this year's is most certainly navy.A few months ago I declared that I was 100% over the dark polish trend, and I stuck to it...all summer I wore Essie Mademoiselle or Sugar Daddy on my fingers and either OPI Malaga Wine, Thrill of Brazil, or Kennebunkport on my toes. But now that October has rolled around, I find myself reaching for those

How gorgeous is this? The lovely Coco Mademoiselle fragrance is available for a limited time in solid form, housed in this sleek gold compact. What a perfect addition to a Chanel clutch, non?I've always loved solid perfumes; they're elegant, discreet, and perfectly portable. Combine that with this oh-so-Chanel compact and I'm sold.I believe this is a limited edition for the holidays but it will

Keira Knightley for Coco Mademoiselle
I love, love this commercial. It reminds me a bit of the Paris episodes of Sex and the City and the Paris scenes in Devil Wears Prada....romantic and mysterious but also bright and energetic, just like Paris itself.Coco Mademoiselle used to be one of my go-to fragrances (as I mentioned last week, I used to keep an extra bottle in my glove compartment!). I'd lost interest in it in recent years,

Runway Beauty: Sass & Bide
Space age beauty at Sass & Bide! This is one of the only looks I've seen so far this season that leans more toward cool than warm. It's icy and cool, a perfect complement to the metallics in Sass & Bide's fall collection.Eyes are smokey in shades of silver and charcoal, with black pencil liner. Try Tarte's Peep Show Smokey Eye Kit in Onyx for everything you need. Keep it a little smudgier than

Wicked Boys
Koneko, she of the *Mostly* Beauty Diary, mused last month on her male friends/coworkers' reactions to this season's midnight-hued nail polishes. (Koneko's polish of choice was Essie Wicked, a favorite here!) While women loved the color, the guys were less enthusiastic.I've been sporting the dark nails, even in the office, for a few months now, from Essie Wicked to OPI Lincoln Park After Dark to
