From the Depths of the Beauty Closet: NARS Multiple in Portofino

My collection of NARS Multiples is pretty intense. For a while, I was on an unstoppable buying spree and I just HAD to have another one every time I visited Sephora. Unfortunately, a bunch of them got lost in the shuffle in my beauty closet, and I forgot about them after a few uses.

In recent weeks I've been trying to resurrect them and use them up, and I've been reminded of just how awesome

Illamasqua: A Feast for Your Eyes (And Your Face)

After hearing tons of buzz about Illamasqua and its arrival at select Sephora stores, I finally had the chance to sample some of the brand's wares. There are more shade selections - in every category - than you can shake a stick at, so if Illamasqua is available at your local Sephora, I strongly encourage you to get in there and check it out. What struck me most was how intense and saturated the

Multiple Multiples from NARS

One of my favorite recent product finds is this must-have NARS The Multiple Coffret. Whether for home or travel, this set has you covered for blush, bronzer and highlighter. It comes with mini sizes of three of my favorite Multiple shades: Orgasm, the classic peachy-pink shimmer, South Beach, a gorgeous non-dirty bronzer, and Copacabana, possibly the most perfect silvery-beige highlighter ever

Two More Fab Compacts from Laura Mercier

Last week we looked at the lovely Eye Mosaic in Mediterranean Sea, and I just can't resist showing off two other LM compacts - check out these beauties!First is the Illuminating Powder in Moroccan Bronze; I'm loving the four blocks of color and the gorgeous stamped design. Works as an illuminator on medium to dark skin tones, and a subtle allover bronzer for fair skin. It looks matte in the photo

Get Your Swag On! I Mean, Your Glow

Please indulge me this ridiculous post title, I've been hearing these hilarious stories about the Soulja Boy hotline and had to work it in somehow. Apparently, if you dial the hotline, Soulja Boy will call YOU in the morning with a wake-up message, exhorting you to "jump on up and get yo swag on!"Anyhow, I'm here to exhort you to jump up and get your glow on! Tarte Infinite Glow takes a concept

Vacation Essentials: Hawaii

In the spirit of my past Summer Essentials posts (check out this one and this one), here are a few of my must-haves from my recent Hawaiian escapades. It's such a laid-back place, so I packed light and focused on multi-tasking products, with a few standouts thrown in for some extra pop.1. Bumble and bumble Creme de Coco Masque ($26) Can't go anywhere without my favorite hair product! This proved

From the Depths of the Beauty Closet: LORAC Blush/Bronzer Duo

As you might imagine, I have quite the stash of beauty stuff. And more often than I'd like, things get lost, buried, accidentally tossed, given away...you get the idea.I thought I had long lost this excellent blush/bronzer duo from LORAC, but on a cleaning binge two weekends ago, lo and behold...there it was, stuck in the very back of a drawer. Score!I bought this Blush/Bronzer Duo in Hot Flash

Bronzer for Pale People: MAC Solar Riche

When I first popped open my MAC Solar Riche Bronzing Powder and swept some across my cheeks, I had a curious feeling of deja vu. Was it the name? The packaging? The idea that I may just have tried too many bronzers and they all look the same now?Turns out it was, indeed, the name. Solar Field was part of last summer's Solar Field collection, but was packaged in that shiny bright orange case that

My Blush, My Rock

You may have noticed the lack of posts around here these days. It's been an eventful couple of weeks here at Beauty Addict! Not to mention 3 big proposals and a complete absence of the "summer slowdown" at work, there's been...let's see...a broken car air conditioner, a broken computer, the worst summer allergies of my life, Windows Vista, a cracked windshield (thanks, NJ Turnpike!) and a trip to

New Collection: MAC Sonic Chic

Nine Mineralize blushes make their debut in the MAC Sonic Chic collection, available now. These baked blushes are sheer, with a pearly, shimmery finish. I think I might be all blushed out coming off the Beauty Powder Blush launch a few months ago, but these are really pretty...so I might not mind expanding the blush collection just a bit. The shades:Dainty Light yellow pink with gold pearl (

Cherry Ice Cream Smile, I Suppose It's Very Nice

OK, first things first. The Non-Blonde recently used the same post title for a completely unrelated product. Duran Duran fans, unite. Click here to read her post. Now: Stila Cherry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain smells exactly like Marino's Cherry Italian Ice. It also makes you look like you've been eating one. This is enough to earn it a permanent spot in my summer makeup bag.The funny thing about

A Sleeper Hit from Heatherette

I love it when an overlooked, no-hype product turns out to be an underrated gem! Today's pick is from the much-anticipated, quickly-gobbled-up MAC Heatherette collection. While products like Hollywood Nights lipstick and, well, ALL the Lipglasses, were talked about nonstop and sold out in a flash, there was one little gem that flew under the radar (even under MY radar).Smooth Harmony Beauty

Collection Review: MAC Strobe and Beauty Powder Blush

Since I last wrote about the two new collections from MAC, Strobe and Beauty Powder Blush, I've had a chance to sample a few items from both and thought I'd share my initial impressions.Strobe Liquid is a thin, hydrating luminizer that gives a lovely, glowy effect underneath or instead of foundation. The description says it's lightweight, but it was even more so than I was expecting. I could

New Collections: MAC Beauty Powder Blush

Every time a new MAC collection comes out, I think to myself, "where is the blush?" (Yeah yeah, I know there were blushes in the Fafi collection, but still.) So I started doing The Secret to see if I could get some blushes, and poof! Here they are. An entire collection of MAC blushes. (That was an inside joke for Julia, by the way, in case you think I'm totally nuts.)MAC Beauty Powder Blush

The Chelsea Girl Look

Wondering what these three makeup items have to do with this album cover? Well, you're looking at MAC Lipglass in Nico Now, NARS Blush in Nico, and NARS Lip Lacquer in Chelsea Girls. And there's the original Chelsea Girl herself, on the cover of her debut solo album in 1967.Though Nico died nearly 20 years ago, her sound and her look continue to inspire musicians and makeup artists alike.Born

Let's Get This O-ver With

So a couple of days ago I walked into Sephora for the first time in what seemed like ages, and the first thing I saw was Smashbox O-Gloss.This was not a good way to start off the new year.Remember O-Glow? Smashbox's gel blush that promised to "react with your personal skin chemistry to turn cheeks the exact color you blush?" I tried it (see the post here), and it turned my cheeks a garish shade

Shop Pink: Smashbox Blushing Pink Fusion Soft Lights

Is it bad that I want this just for the super cute pink brush? This October, snap up this fab duo from Smashbox, which includes Soft Lights powder in new Blushing Pink (love the pink ribbon logo on the lid!) and a special PINK Face & Body Brush #19. A portion of the proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, a grassroots advocacy group dedicated to finding a cure.

Best of Sephora: Cheeks

Part 4 in our recap of the 2007 Best of Sephora winners! Unfortunately, this one's a real snoozer. Is anyone really surprised by the blush winner?Blush: NARS Blush in OrgasmCome on! This blush is more overexposed than Paris Hilton. It's a great color (I own and love it), but it isn't a miracle worker. There are other blushes out there, people! You don't have to keep parroting the words of every
