Refuses to take its tablets... But for good reason?
HTC is not interested in releasing a tablet to rival Apple's iPad. At least, not yet.
Eric Lin, the company's global PR and online community manager, told Pocket-lint: "We are always looking at it, but, right now, the whole idea is that in order to be successful with a tablet, you need to have something compelling. And not just a compelling form factor".
And that means HTC is happy to sit back and see what the rest of the market does first: "You need to find that compelling use, that compelling story, that one compelling feature. And we are not going to do anything until we have found that", Lin said.
"Youve seen how, at Computex, there were 80 different Android tablets", he continued. "So if we just release an Android tablet, then were one of 81 Whereas, if we have a compelling feature, a really compelling use, anything like that, then itll help us to stand out. Its going to take a lot of work searching for that".
And that is why there'll be nothing tablet-sized from HTC this year, UK or otherwise. However, with the big screen HTC Ace on the horizon...
