Chunghwa Telecom, Inventec cooperate to offer trial cloud computing system

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) and PC maker Inventec will cooperate to offer a cloud computing system available for trial use by members of the Taiwan Cloud Computing Consortium (TCCC), a cloud computing industry alliance formed on April 7, 2010, at the end of July 2010, according to CHT at the first TCCC general meeting on July 7.

The trial cloud computing system will consist of 127 servers and about 1,000 processor cores initially and the capacity will be expanded in September 2010, CHT pointed out.

TCCC members decided on the organizational structure and corresponding staffs of the alliance at the meeting, with four working groups responsible for inventorying of technologies and standard specification, application and service, collection of related regulations around the world as well as promotion of international cooperation.
