China Mobile, a brand owned by China Mobile Communications which is the largest mobile telecom carrier in China, is the most valuable Chinese brand with a brand value of 267 billion yuan (US$39.3 billion) in 2010, according to the latest annual valuation done by China-based Hurun Research Institute.
China Mobile has ranked first for the fourth consecutive year, with brand value rising by 34.17% from 2009, Hurun indicated.
Among Chinese brands owned by private enterprises, web portal and instant messenger service provider Tencent and search engine Baidu are the top two with brand values of 46 billion yuan and 43 billion yuan respectively, while consumer electronics brand Haier and IT brand Lenovo are valued at 18 billion yuan and 12 billion yuan respectively, Hurun noted.
