Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, showcased its "Easy ODN" at the FTTx & Next Generation Access Summit 2010 held on June 8, 2010 in London, UK.
As a key part of Huawei' s "SingleFAN FTTH" solution, the "Easy ODN" is an end-to-end solution that consists of a series of optical distribution network (ODN) products, including: optical distribution frames (ODFs), fiber distribution terminals (FDTs), fiber access terminals (FATs), optical splitters, closures, and access terminal boxes (ATBs). With this solution, operators can quickly and efficiently deploy ODNs with easy operation, administration, and maintenance (OAM.).
ODN is playing an increasingly important role in large-scale FTTH deployment, as ODN deployment usually entails long construction periods, complex scenarios, and difficulty with PON management and malfunctions detection. To help operators solve these challenges, Huawei has launched this "Easy ODN" solution.
As part of Huawei' s All-IP convergence strategy, the "Easy ODN" solution fully considers the key factors that impact ODN deployment efficiency. By adopting modular and user-friendly designs, the solution can help operators simplify their operation and network construction.
Huawei has also rolled out an intelligent ODN (iODN) solution to manage the increasing number of optical fibers in FTTH networks. This innovative design reduces the workload and errors in manual information input and provides strong support for mass FTTH deployments.
Huawei's "Easy ODN" solution is currently adopted by over 30 leading operators globally, including British Telecom, Etisalat, and Telekom Malaysia. Already applied in over 80 projects with more than 1 million user lines, the "Easy ODN" has become a major ODN solution in the industry
