HTC is working on a version of its Android device Hero that has a sliding QWERTY keyboard. This shows a profile that was Tweakers.net face. The Taiwanese manufacturer has the device codenamed HTC Espresso passed.
The Espresso is HTC's second Android device with sliding keyboard. The first was the HTC Dream, which under the name T-Mobile G1 in stores made. It is unknown whether and when in the shops will be.
The Espresso ARMv6 runs on a chip, according to the profile. Probably on the same MSM7200 chipset also in the Hero and several other HTC's used. That chip can be clocked up to 528MHz.
The specifications mentioned in the profile are exactly the same as that of Hero, so the screen has a resolution of 320x480. The screen size and other specifications are unclear. Also there are no pictures yet of the Android smartphone.
The device is at least not the Dragon of the Passion, devices which has long been the internet rumors go. The name appeared first on Espresso in a forum post earlier this week, where several code names for devices were. Many of these code names have been released devices, such as Dream and Hero. The Magic and the Tattoo appeared in that list as Sapphire and Halo. What other devices are indicated by the code names like Liberty and Legend, is unclear.
