HTC and Bharti Airtel jointly launch Touch Diamond in India

High Tech Computer (HTC) has continued its cooperation with India-based telecom service provider Bharti Airtel to jointly market HTC Touch Diamond handsets in the India market, according to HTC. HTC teamed up with Bharti Airtel to launch the HTC Touch in India in 2007.

Since India has not yet started to implement 3G services, HTC is offering an EDGE-version of the Touch Diamond to Bharti Airtel, HTC said.

Bharti Airtel, which currently has a total of 65 million GSM subscribers, will launch the Touch Diamond in 17 cities in India simultaneously in mid-June at a price no higher than 27,500 rupee (US$640), said HTC.
