This has got to be one of the absurd reasons but its true. Vodafone claims that any firmware update not approved by them even if its an official update from the handset manufacturer consumer will lose the Vodafone warranty but will have manufacturers warranty. Apparently, Vodafone warranty allows users to repair the handsets if the device was Vodafone approved software.
The issue has surfaced on Vodafones official forums where Galaxy S users were reportedly discussing newly released Galaxy S firmware via KIES Samsungs official software.
This expectedly, hasnt gone well with the Galaxy S owners and it will be interesting to see if Vodafone budges down from its stance.
