Visuals:
Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers and Brian Danfield, acting regional president for Verizon Wireless, will officially mark the store�s certification with the cutting of a gold ribbon. Interviews with the Mayor and representatives of the City and Verizon Wireless and tours of the store will also be available.

Background:
The Verizon Wireless Communications Store in Avondale is the first in Arizona and among the first Verizon Wireless retail locations in the nation to secure LEED� certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

The Avondale store�s design optimizes water and energy use, enhances indoor environmental quality and reduces waste through responsible procurement and construction practices.
