Forbidden Planet

Yesterday afternoon I stopped by Forbidden Planet, my neighborhood comic book shop. On the agenda: Betty & Veronica Double Digest #177. They was but one copy remaining and it was pretty beat up with the cover all bent and everything. One of the guys working there offered to check for back stock, but that was all they had left :(

So we started talking about Archie comics. Back in November 2009, they had a big window display with HUGE originals of various Archie strips. The display was only up for a month, and then disappeared.

�What happened with those originals?�
�Still down in the basement. I have my eye on one of them, but I�m not sure what we�re doing with the rest...�
�Oh?? Would you...perhaps...maybe...possibly...sell it to me?�
�Let me check!�
And then he disappeared down to the basement. And came up ten minutes later. With one of the BIG BIG originals.
�This is for you!� he said with a smile. And then handed it over.
�Can I buy it from you?�
�Nope. You can just have it!�
�Just have it?�
�Yup!�

I was in HEAVEN.

Good thing I live close by. I carried it back to my apartment and man, was it windy yesterday! I just missed the rain too. Perfect, perfect. And then it was off for an early dinner with P at Grand Sichuan...saut�ed pea shoots, hot oil dumplings, and garlic shrimp! Happy Wednesday :)
