Netbooks with Intel Atom N450 appear on Jan. 11?

Resource DigiTimes reports that a group of companies, including Asustek Computer, Acer, Lenovo, and Micro-Star International (MSI), will officially unveil its products based on the new Intel platform January 11, 2010. Previously the company had planned to release models with an Intel Atom N450, in December, but now, according to DigiTimes, all these vendors have concluded an agreement with Intel, according to which the obligation to submit their own design after January 10.

Smaller computer makers will exhibit their products later in the first half of next year. Vendors will produce netbooks based on the chipset Intel Atom N450 with three different operating systems: Windows 7 Starter, Moblin Linux and Windows XP Home Edition. In this case the producers the most popular Windows 7, although it more than others will increase the cost of the product. Models with Google Chrome OS will appear much later, after the official launch of the operating system, which will be held in mid or late 2010.
In addition to the new platform Intel Atom N450, Intel plans to release an improved version of the Atom N470, in March 2010.
