Himfr.com Evaluates Nokia Slide-form X3 Music Phone

BEIJING, -- Himfr.com, one of China's leading B2B search platforms with more than 30 B2B industry websites to its name, evaluates the Nokia slide-form X3 music phone.

The first impression the Nokia X3 gives people is that it is small, with 96 x 49.3 x 14.1mm body measurements and 69.8g in weight. This kind of mobile phone is slightly smaller than previous models, with a plastic shell that slides open smoothly.

The Nokia X3 is too similar to previous models in terms of shape and color; the new series of products do not feel very fresh. The phone has a 2.2-inch screen and comes in classic red and black colors. On the left of the screen there are music navigation keys, just like the 5630XM and 5730XM models.

Five-way navigation keys and the main function keys are arranged in the same layout as previous Nokia models; operation is not going be any different, but there is no independent power button, so misoperation may result in unintended power-down.

Nokia's X3 has a relatively simple design, the phone's left side only has a microSD card slot, located under the protection board, which not only supports hot-plug functionality, but also protects the memory card and keeps it from falling out. The right side of the phone has conventional volume control keys and a camera shutter button with single-press functionality, which facilitates one-handed operation.

On the top of the phone, there is a charger port, a data wire, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The data wire is a B-mini USB interface. Although the interfaces do not interfere with one another, they are concentrated on the phone's top. Since it is a music phone, a great speaker is essential; the Nokia X3 provides two separate speakers in the body on both ends of the power amplifier, which provide excellent sound quality.

The Nokia X3 has a built-in alarm clock, calendar, a unit conversion function, an English-Chinese dictionary, world times, mobile QQ, and an Opera mini browser, and additional applications can be added through the JAVA extension program.

Himfr comments that although the Nokia X3 is the first of a new X series, looking at the system content, it does not appear to have too many innovations. This design cannot help but remind one of the applications in the Nokia N900 on the Maemo 5 system; it shows that Nokia is working on Android and so emerging systems are seen as a threat.

On the market, the phone runs about RMB 1,200 yuan. It is a fairly low-end cell phone without much room for further price cuts. Himfr.com suggests that anyone who wants this phone may consider purchasing it when it hits the market.
