Ocean Life Cake

This cake was another easy one to produce. The larger ocean life are all toys, the smaller are all fondant. The child I made this cake for wanted me to include his favorite ocean toys into the design, which was somewhat of a challenge on such a small cake.

This cake started out as an 11x15" sheet, that I cut and built up, then frosted with a small spatula.

My favorite part of this ocean cake is the killer whale gobbling up a fondant starfish. :o)

If you look at the photo on the left, you'll see two Wilton Cookie Sticks supporting the whales. These provided a bit of stability as I transported the cake to the birthday boy's party and were removed upon arrival. :o)
