iida PLY - puff slider from au KDDI

Japanese mobile phone operator au KDDI introduced new models of mobile phones from its designer line iida, whose acronym literally stands for "innovation" (innovation), "imagination" (fantasy), "design" (design) and "art" (art). One of the novelties, which was presented as part of this announcement, became the model iida PLY, made in the form factor slider. However, her unusual, with a design point of view, lies in the fact that the Corps PLY consists of several color layers, and, for the end user, they each perform their specific function - each layer has its own key management. Well, for its creators, they embody the accumulation of layers of design and generation of mobile phones, where each of this layer is designed to visually answer the question: "What will be added later? And what the design will be based mobile phones of the future?".



Designer, so to speak, the main artistic director of this project was made by Hideo Qambar (Hideo Kambara), who works at a Japanese advertising agency Dentsu Inc, and uchuvstvoval to create a different design models from KDDI - INFOBAR 2. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the concept of phone PLY - at the Festival D & AD Awards 2009 he was awarded one of 50 "yellow pencil" winners. It is also noteworthy, and other work Hideo Qambar - 28 migrant eraser included among the exhibits of the exhibition "Humble Masterpieces" (Humble Masterpieces), held in New York's Museum of Modern Art (Museum of Modern Art) and subsequently selected for permanent display.

PLY has three options for coloring the shell - a brown that resembles the foliation timber, the second - this pink, designed to create an image of the petals, as well as black - emphasizing the depth of three-dimensional space of shades of that color.
