Nokia reduces the production and sends employees to leave

The company Nokia announced today that in connection with the rate of increase in the cost-effectiveness and adapt its activities to the current market situation, it plans to close its research center in Jyv�skyl� (Jyv�skyl�), which employs about 320 people, and concentrate their efforts in this direction in the Finnish city of Tampere, Oulu, Salo, and the capital - Helsinki. In addition, the company intends to reduce production in Salo, and send it to leave about 20-30% (from 2500 persons) of its employees to bring production to current market requirements without interrupting operations. The company will begin discussions with the union on those plans.
