The competition within the 8-megapixel handset segment will heat up in November when Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics introduce counterpart models, the Innove8 and KC910, respectively.
In addition to the C905, Sony has also unveiled four handsets to be launched in the Taiwan market this quarter, with an aim to maintain its leading position in the local market in terms of sales value, Yeh said.
The upcoming models include the Windows Mobile-based Xperia X1 and the W902 and W595 Walkman-series handsets, the company said.
Sony Ericsson has led all rivals as the largest handset vendor in the Taiwan market in terms of sales value for three consecutive months since June, according to data available at Taiwan retail channels.
