Goldfish :(

Shann and I went to a restaurant called Goldfish the other week. It was mighty suspicious looking from the outside, all run down and old with a parking lot where not a single car parked within the white lines. It didnt even look like it was open. And even if it was open, I still wasnt sure I wanted to go it. But we were already there, and it was starting to rain, so we went.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but surprisingly enough, it appeared to be a very legitimate restaurant once we were seated. They walls are painted a deep ocean blueperhaps we are supposed to imagine we as the customer, are little goldfish swimming around? Nonetheless, its somewhat soothing. There were a few occupied tables, and the place attracted a steady stream of business during the course of our meal.

All was going well as we placed our order for Volcano roll and the Tiger roll. We were in the mood for fun sushi. And then waited. And waited. It seemed like the food would never come! But we persisted. And waited. And it finally came.

Here is the Volcano roll.

And here is the Tiger roll. We merrily ate our way through the rolls, when halfway through I thought I should probably find some other way to describe this as mmm, tasty! on this blog and recall whats actually in the roll. We had kept a copy of the menu on the side, and whipped it back out to read and compare. Thats when we stupidly realized we had not been given the rolls we ordered. Maybe they mixed up our order, Shann suggested. So we looked to see what the rolls we were eating were actually called. And you know what? It turned out that our roll was none of the above. Both rolls didnt even exist on the menu! Gasp.

We figured it was too late to complain as we were 90% finished, and really, what could you say? um, were almost done, but this isnt what we ordered? Very funny. The ahi on top the first roll was extremely fresh and all were well packed and tightly rolled, but we missed the unagi, salmon and avocado that was supposed to show up along with spicy ahi in the second roll, and the ingredients in the first roll had nothing to do with what we ordered!

So we finished, paid our bill and left. We wont be coming back anytime soon.
