Anyone Want a Cup of Tea? Cake? How About Teapot Cake?

This is my 3rd teapot cake. I'm trying to make them all look different enough, that they're still interesting! lol

This is made using aluminum mixing bowls and baking on a lower heat... for a longer period of time. The cake is very dense and takes quite a long time to bake through, so I usually set my oven to 330 degrees to make this work. Otherwise, by the time the center bakes through, the edges will overbake big time!

The handle, spout, rings at base and top, and the flowers are all fondant made... dowels hold the handle and spout in place.

Christmas Teapot Cake

Here's the Christmas teapot cake you may remember me mentioning a few days back. As promised, tomorrow I'll have some very basic instructions for creating a tea pot cake of your very own. This cake is really quite simple to create, it just takes a little time and a little fondant!
I intentionally used a very simple technique and design for a variety of reasons, one being that my 5 year old daughter has mono and is horribly sick this week. The other being I wanted to show my reader's just how simple a thing a teapot cake can be!

More later....
