Your mailbox is full (or maybe not)

A password phish from the East

Alert reader Nathan Tidd at Digital Highway sent this one in: a password phishing email that impersonates the �your mailbox is full� notification.


Ah yes, a notification from my good friend wbadmn1@web.de. But wait, Wbadmn's email server is in Germany, the �re-validation� page is on a GoDaddy web site and it�s registered to somebody in Vilnius, the beautiful old capital of Lithuania. Funny, I thought our IT department was in the building here.


OK, we�ll just make up some information and fill out the form:



Well that�s interesting. I put in made-up information and my account is "upgraded."

I smell phish.
