Motorola examined the preferences of young people

Motorola has announced the results of its global survey of preferences of the new millennium generation (young people aged 16 to 27 years) in the selection of technologies, services and ways to consume content. The study found that young Russians attached great importance to the possibility to be always connected, tends to choose the means of access to content and has a significant influence on the choice of technology by the representatives of the older generation.

By request of Motorola, a telecommunications network unit (Home & Network Mobility), a study previously conducted in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. In Russia, a study was conducted by J'son & Partners Consulting among more than 500 respondents in Moscow, Samara and Stavropol. The results showed that young Russians are not only the active use of new technologies and services, but also form the user preferences of their parents. Most respondents indicated that they had a significant influence on their parents in deciding to connect to broadband Internet access (92%) or pay-TV services (80%).

People born in the mid 80's to early 90's, live in a world where new technologies, their rapid development, increasing choice and access to a variety of devices are the norm. In this new generation of Russians do not differ from their peers in other countries:

� 92 percent of respondents have broadband Internet access, 69 percent of them recognized the strong attachment to the Network;
� 74 per cent from 96 per cent of respondents having a mobile phone, can not imagine life without mobile communications. 79 per cent feel 'naked' without including mobile;
� 79 percent of Russians believe that their style of life without the Internet will change drastically, while 76% feel 'completely lost' without access to the web.

Russia's representatives of the generation of the new millennium download much more content from the Web than their European peers. Several times a week and more:

� 66 percent of young Russians download music from the Internet, whereas in Europe and the Middle East - an average of only 35 per cent;
� 45 percent of Russians downloaded from the web films, an average well received only 26 percent of users in other countries;
� Two out of five young people in Russia go to the Internet from a mobile phone, which is twice the average in other countries.
