Companies Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Silicon Image, Sony and Toshiba announced the creation of a working group of Mobile High-Definition Interface, which will aim to create industry-standard audio / video interface for direct connection of mobile phones and portable electronics to HD televisions and displays. A new standard to connect mobile devices, based on technology from Silicon Image called Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), will be formulated, promoted and offered by the working group as an industry standard, open to all wishing to adopt it.
The vision of the working group, which creates a new standard is to provide a simple and cost-effective introduction to the manufacturers, offering consumers a simple and reliable solution. The new standard will apply a single cable with a low number of contacts maintained with the transmission of HD video in 1080p resolution and digital HD audio with the ability to recharge mobile devices.
