Replace bar-codes will come more codes

Each of us practically every day faced with the bar-codes, also known as bar codes. The simplest example - the goods in a supermarket, which are on the packaging of a combination of light and dark vertical stripes of varying widths with drawing the figures below. At the box office this code is read and the treasurer receives all the information on this product.

Specialists of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have proposed the replacement of bar codes. Scientists suggest using more codes (Bokode, bokeh-code), which use well-known effect of image fuzziness out of focus - Bok. Interestingly, the label size of 3 mm can be considered a normal mobile phone camera at a distance of 4 meters! In the case of bar codes, the distance is much less - remember the same sample with the cashier in a supermarket. In addition, the assurances of scientists, using more codes you can encrypt a much greater amount of information.

The wide dissemination of news has hampered the high cost of tags - about $ 5 apiece. This is due to the fact that early prototypes tags contain lenses and LED-indicator, which must be handed food. Perhaps in the future this problem will be solved.
