Seoul, - LG Electronics (LG) announced the appointment of Bradley A. Gambill to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) effective July 1, 2009. His appointment is a critical component of LG�s effort to recruit top talent from around the world to establish leading functional practices at the Seoul-headquartered global company.
Prior to joining LG, Mr. Gambill gained over 15 years of top management consulting experience with McKinsey & Company and Innosight Consulting. In early 2006, Mr. Gambill founded Innosight Ventures as a spinoff of Innosight Consulting in order to incubate and fund new disruptive growth businesses.
During his management consulting career, Mr. Gambill focused his efforts on the development of innovation and technology management strategies and practical growth strategies for a range of venture capital firms, startups and large corporations. Many of his experiences included identifying and developing opportunities by creating and launching new growth businesses with a strong orientation toward tangible results.
Mr. Gambill was recognized as a thought leader at McKinsey & Company. He is the author of several articles, among them The Curse of Too Much Capital: Building New Businesses in Large Corporations that appeared in an issue of McKinsey Quarterly. He moved to Singapore in early 1999 to help launch the McKinsey Singapore office which he later managed for two years. He also launched and managed the McKinsey Singapore Accelerator, a subsidiary dedicated to helping clients develop new growth businesses.
After leaving McKinsey & Company, Mr. Gambill joined Innosight Consulting, which provides disruptive innovation consulting to dozens of the world�s most successful institutions. Innosight Consulting was founded by Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen, the world-renowned author of the breakthrough 1997 book The Innovator�s Dilemma and the 2003 follow-up book The Innovator�s Solution.
In 2006, Mr. Gambill founded Innosight Ventures as a spinoff from Innosight Consulting. Since that time, he has served as the firm�s CEO and Managing Director and has overseen the firm�s expansion into three different offices in Singapore, Mumbai and Baltimore. Mr. Gambill arranged significant funding for the firm and its ventures from Asian private equity investors, Singapore�s National Research Foundation, Global 100 corporations and philanthropic venture capital firms. He recruited and led a cross-cultural team and developed over 100 disruptive business concepts and launched nearly two dozen ventures during his time with the firm.
A citizen of the United States, Mr. Gambill graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and earned his MBA from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
