GPS-module SiRFstarIV will save battery power

GPS-ins for the most part, used in portable devices, so the issue of energy conservation is very important. Unfortunately, current solutions are not too careful to include the battery, affecting the overall time of autonomous work of gadgets.

New GPS-module SiRFstarIV, which uses submitted by Cambridge Silicon Radio receiver GSD4t, will allow mobile devices constantly use GPS-functions without compromising the battery. Platform SiRFstarIV consumes from 50 to 500 mikroamper that on the orders of less than consumed by the existing solutions. SiRFstarIV come into production in October and the first mobile devices based on it will appear on the market in early 2010.
