Today might be windy but the sun is out, so there is absolutely no excuse to stay inside!

I set off to Chinatown early in the morning, making stops here and there for tea leaves, dofu fa, and nuoc nam. Breakfast was at Bo Ky on the corner of Mott and Bayard. I keep meaning to try different dishes here, but always end up ordering either the wonton mein or galee gai funn, and today it was the latter, a bounty of slippery ho funn in curry with chicken, eggplant and potatoes.

The afternoon was spent dashing between either ends of the village, a mix of apartment hunting and hat shopping. And with all that walking, one must take a break. Naturally, I headed to the happiest place on earth, Abrao, for a late afternoon black & tan.

I warned myself, at least a dozen times today, that I'd either get a drink or sweet but not both, because I'm starting to edge on chubby, and well, moderation is key, no? However such warning was in vain as I simply could not help myself, caving into the wonderful sirens of ricotta fritters fried to order. Ping pong ball in size, lightly sugar dusted with a crisp shell and soft and sweet steamy innards, just a mild hint of ricotta, and goodness, can you really blame me? ^_^
The best part of the afternoon was hearing Jamie's cheerful farewell as I left Abrao, "see you later alligator!"
Hope you're all having a nice Sunday!
