Samsung & Adidas Unveil 'miCoach': The Ultimate Fitness Phone


Adidas and Samsung teamed up to unveil �miCoach�, a product combining mobile technology with sport innovation. The announcement was made at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, when they�ve describes their creation to be a �real-time training system� that brings motivation, inspiration and will to athletes who wish to reach their goals in terms of training.

�miCoach is an exemplary manifestation of the Adidas brand message of innovation and inspiration,� President and CEO of Adidas Erich Stamminger said. �Adidas has been a leader in the sports industry for more than 80 years, and the miCoach initiative with Samsung continues this tradition in an effort to inspire and enable athletes at all levels.�

The collaboration between the two famous brands began approximately two years ago, with one single purpose: to conquer the market with the most advanced training product out there. Supported by the Athletes� Performance Institute (API), a training and sport research centre at Arizona State University, miCoach is said to be a must for athletes with a purpose.

The announcement came one day after Apple and Nike unveiled their plan to bring Nike+ and iPod technology to the gyms. Together with several gym equipment manufacturers, Nike and Apple want to give people exactly the same chance as any professional athlete: set goals, track progress, challenge themselves. �It�s a groundbreaking too for people who want to maximize their workouts.� As it appears, combining physical training and technology is an upward trend, and the market begins to expand.
