Sandwiches @ town

Mom and I popped by town for a quick lunch yesterday. We got there a bit past 2pm, and they only had a limited lunch menu :(

Nonetheless, we were each satisfied with our choice, mom had a prosciutto and salami panini with fries. I didn't try her panini, but those fries are sooo awesome, the best part is the deep-fried sage and parsley tossed into the mix.

My panini was pretty simple and straightforward: roasted eggplant, tomatoes, caramelized onions and boursin. I really like the bread the use for the panini, though have no idea whether they bake in house or outsource...thin, crusty, a high crust to innards ratio. Notice I opted for the Ma'o salad over fries? Yes, my mom thinks I'm starting to fall on the chubby side so she kindly suggested I get a salad. After the 'maybe you need a boyfriend' talk, I've lost the will to argue. But I ate most of her fries :)

P.S.
I find that lunch service is always pretty lousy no matter what time of the day I go. Waiters at dinner seem to be much more attentive...
